Hi, I’m Lee.
I help people who feel a little (or a lot) off-track to become fully engaged again in a meaningful life that they love.
I’ve been there too
A while ago, I remember feeling like a shell of my former self. Depressed. Exhausted. Wondering where the spirited ‘me’ had gone: the woman who knew what she wanted and made things happen.
I’d been a little battered by life’s storms. I’d experienced loss. Trauma. Separation.
Things like that can bring you down for a while. They can steal your energy and light. Your fight.
Sometimes it’s just the ‘busyness’ of the daily grind that wears us out. Or it’s a feeling of being trapped in a perfectly all-right job (that we don’t like) or a ‘good-on-paper’ relationship (that isn’t working)… or just in the relentless whirl of modern living.
Looking back now, it was the ‘curve balls’ that shaped me
It was the recovery and rebuilding—the healing that I underwent—that transformed who I am and how I tackle the world now.
And I never thought I’d be tackling it like this! I’m a mum of two (seven and four) with a FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) bloke. In 2013, I ran my first marathon. I’ve run another and a 50 kilometre ultra marathon since.
And I didn’t do it by pushing myself harder, or by ‘manifesting’ or by cramming any more into my life than I was already juggling.
I did it with massive doses of self care. Of self compassion. And the gentle letting go of the fear and the barriers that had kept me stuck for so long.
I did it with courage. And a plan. And the odd, seemingly crazy, risk!
That’s how I work with my clients now
I listen to how things are for you and ask intuitive questions. With a background in social work and counselling, I know that opening up about what might be holding you back takes courage—and I hold space for that courage to grow.
My style is measured, gentle and conversational. (It’s neither ‘woo woo’ nor ‘rah rah’, only because those approaches are simply not ‘me’).
You may like to know (or it might not even matter to you) that I draw on many evidence-based theories in my work, in particular positive psychology, solutions-focussed practice and motivational interviewing. I’m a qualified Life Coach (Certificate IV in Life Coaching) and a qualified Social Worker (BA, BSW).
In our sessions I encourage you to ‘think big’. To figure out a new vision for your future that is not only desirable but achievable.
I’m very ‘real’ and down-to-earth in my approach. We start with what you have, where you are, and move you from surviving to really thriving.
I’ve worked with people moving through major upheaval and adjustment (grief, acquired disability, mental or chronic illness—major life transitions) and with people experiencing none of those things, who just know that life isn’t quite the way they’d like it to be, yet.
If you’d like to know more, send me a message below and we can arrange an obligation-free chat. I’d love to find out what you’re struggling with at the moment, and see if I can help in any way.
